Judging Criteria
FUNCTIONALITY - 60 POINTS
- Design of Jacket - Thick enough to prevent bee stings. All openings fit snugly with elastic closures to prevent bees from crawling into jacket. Allows beekeeper to move freely. Breathable for working in hot summer months. Sleeves should be long and cover the full arm.
- Design of Veil or Hood - Has a thin mesh to prevent bees from stinging head, face and neck. Does not restrict vision while working in hive. Stays secure in place.
- Design of Gloves - Provides full functionality of fingers. Fit snugly. Extend to cover the forearms.
CONDITION - 30 POINTS
- Neat, Clean and Tidy
- Free from holes
- Elastics are all in good working condition
OTHER - 10 POINTS
- Attire should be light in colour
